My name is Thomas Galvan and I’m an interior, graphic, and research designer.
I have always been an art and design lover. It is for this reason that I went to and I graduated with a thesis on retail design in 2014 from Politecnico di Milano. Later, in 2016, I enrolled in the Master in Interior Architecture: Research + Design (MIARD) in the Piet Zwart Institute in Rotterdam. During my two years there I was trained on – and developed my skills in – research and design, and I faced a multitude of different topics and challenges that materialized in my final project “The Next Evolution”. The project won the ‘MIARD Alumni Research Award’ and was exhibited during Dutch Design Week 2018 as part of the exhibition Ulterior.
During the last years I have worked on several typologies of projects. I worked as an interior designer, as a retail designer, as light designer, as motion graphic designer, and as research designer.
I am currently the lead designer on the concept, design and realization of 3D-printed light products for the startup Hola Studio, a design studio located in Rotterdam guided by the emotional design approach. Moreover, I work for the design agency WOAU!, focusing on brand-identities, spatial design, interaction-design, and research design.
